Smitha James serves as the Senior Associate Director of Life Sciences programs in the University at Buffalo’s Office of Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships. In this role, she leads program management and industry engagement for UB’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, UB Center for Advanced Technology in Big Data and Health Sciences, and the Buffalo Institute for Genomics. The Centers with 50,000 sq ft of incubator space, advanced omics technologies, student and faculty talent, and investment funds serve as UB’s hub for life sciences innovation and entrepreneurial activities.
